HomePod 16.3 Not Showing Up?

This shortcoming has been reported by Abigail:

“16.3 update not available for me! Update iphone and watch but not showing up for HomePod! Pls help I want to get temperature and humidity readings!”

Apparently, Apple has decided to delay the release of HomePod 16.3! tvOS 16.3 has been also pulled from yesterday’s update list!

HomePod 16.3 Release Date: January 25

According to this screenshot shared on Reddit, from Apple’s Developer software release section HomePod 16.3 and tvOS 16.3 will be released Wednesday, January 25.

Fact: It’s unclear yet if Apple has pulled the updates because of a last minute bug discovered in the Release Candidate versions, or because it aims to provide maximum exposure to the 2023 M2 MacBook Pros arriving today!

How To Fix HomePod 16.3 Not Available

If you can’t wait two more days to enable the temperature and humidity sensors on your HomePod, there is a way to get update 16.3 right now.

You can install the HomePod 16.3 RC public beta and get all the new features. However, in case of an existing bug that caused this delay you will get it too.

• 1. Open Home app on your iPhone or iPad.
• 2. Tap on the three-dots in the top-right corner of the screen and go for Home Settings.
• 3. Scroll for Software Update.
• 4. Tap on HomePod Beta Updates and turn the feature On.
• 5. HomePod 16.3 RC will be recognized. Tap Update.

Tip: After the installation completes you should return to the same menu and disable HomePod Beta updates. This will allow you to get back to the official update sequence when the next software update is released.
