Related: Apple has also released a new firmware version for the MagSafe charger.
the AirPods Pro 2 that I have when I have them updated to the 5e135 update they sound way better with the sound Quilty and the noise cancelling on the AirPods are blocking more sounds when you turn the option on but no improvement to the head tracking feature while using the AirPods with the iPhone but works fine with MacBook Pro 2023 I hope apple improve this and about the battery there’s no improvements maybe others will notice the battery improvements but some won’t there can be massive improvements to the AirPods for some users but some users won’t notice because the software can be different to others when they update to the latest update
Thanks for the feedback. Not noticing any battery improvements over here either.
ever since this update the microphones sound very bad in voice calls, with distinct noise “stages” like so
-stage 1 (normal speech-ish) unintelligible over call, other people cannot understand a word im saying
-stage 2 (louder background noises, cars passing, raising voice louder) it audibly pops and starts working as normal for a bit, normal speech is intelligible as long as i keep talking. the second i shut up, it reverts to stage 1
-stage 3 (after very loud noise, tapping airpod, car horn, yelling near microphone) sound gets completely drowned out, everything sound as if from inside a tin can, lasts a couple of seconds and reverts to normal after no noise.
on gen 2 normal airpods
Right AirPod crackles when I speak.
And this only started happening now after the update?
Thanks for sharing. Have you tried to unpair and re-pair them?
Anyone else with similar problems on AirPods 2?
Yeah, but mine happened during this update. The microphone is unusable to make a call with or use Siri or anything at all. I figured out it is just one of the AirPods and not both, my right one works fine, the left is the one with the issue. Pretty annoying. Also they are normal plain Jane AirPods Gen 2 with the stock oem case.
Is the one that’s not working also having problems with charging? Check out the fixes provided here:
https://www.iphonetricks.org/left-or-right-airpod-not-charging-anymore/
Same happened to my Airpods Pro (Gen 1). People suddenly started complaining about my mic in calls, kind of revolting how Apple just rendered it useless overnight.
Sorry to hear this. If nothing else helps, try installing the AirPods 6 beta:
https://www.iphonetricks.org/airpods-6-beta-6a238h-download-how-to-install/
After updated, my left airpods has loud noise
Thanks for sharing. What AirPods model are you owning?
After the update, I get the following in “Find My” – AirPods Setup Incomplete – No Location Found. I’ve done everything the instructions have indicated and it’s still not working. Any ideas? Thanks!
Have you tried to remove and re-pair them?
I have, several times. I’ve shut off my phone, repaired, etc. I have the airpods pro 2.
Same issue here, still persisting. Has anyone found a solution ?
Someone suggested that you should let them run out of battery completely. This will cause them to fully reset. After that recharge and it should work. Let us know if it helps.
But a quicker fix requires you to turn off Dolby Atmos / Spatial Audio feature in Music settings. Let us know if it helps.
Update: Covered this issue here in more details. You can find more troubleshooting options too:
https://www.iphonetricks.org/airpods-setup-incomplete-error-find-my-fix/
Same here, even my AirPods case is disappearing in Find My. Another one is charging case sound setting is greyed out.
Have you tried to disconnect and reconnect them to your account?
Excessive case battery drain on Airpods Pro 2 case whether pods are in them or not. Started happening after 5E135.
Thanks for sharing. Haven’t noticed the same behavior. Anyone else confirming this?
Have you tried to reset the AirPods and see if it makes a difference?
https://www.iphonetricks.org/how-to-reset-airpods-pro-to-factory-settings/
AirPods have been reset and repaired. This problem continues. New problems have now surfaced similar to Tracy in ‘Find My’ No location found and AirPods Pro 2 show up intermittently on the battery widget. Terrible update
Thanks for the followup. iOS 16.5 is due soon, let’s see if it will have an impact on the AirPods.
I’m having problems with Transparency mode since the update! It kicks-in automatically without any obvious reason! I have to manually re-enable ANC…
Thanks for sharing. We’ve covered this issue here. Also, iOS 16.5 has just been released. Let us know if it makes a difference.
Right Airpod not working. I tried all the fixes from Apple and Youtube. It just stopped working. Version 5E135.
Thanks for sharing. Have you checked out these solutions:
1. https://www.iphonetricks.org/left-or-right-airpod-not-charging-anymore/
2. https://www.iphonetricks.org/one-airpod-not-working-no-sound-from-mac/
I just replaced my 1st gen AirPods with 2nd gen on May 23 and I hate them. I loved my first set, but these are awful.
My issues:
Mic cuts out while in use. Sometimes people can hear me, sometimes they can’t. It’s a crap shoot, and I don’t know it’s happening unless they say.
Transparency randomly turns on/off with any outside sounds.
Podcasts randomly pause when I haven’t touched them and don’t even have my phone awake.
Thanks for the extended feedback. Have you tried to reset your AirPods and reconnect them to your device?
I have not, but I will google how to do that and mar you know if anything changes.
Here you go:
https://www.iphonetricks.org/how-to-reset-airpods-pro-to-factory-settings/
It seemed to help a small amount, the mic issues are still there, but they don’t seem to turn off transparency when a bird sings now, and they’ve only paused a podcast on their own once since I reset.
You could try to install the AirPods 6 beta. However, it might bring other issues too. Here are more details:
https://www.iphonetricks.org/airpods-6-beta-6a238h-download-how-to-install/
Just bought AirPods 2nd generation. Volume playing music is lower than older ones. If I’m listening to my music and a call or text comes in I don’t hear it. I’ve checked volume levels. Also, I can’t say hey siri and get a response. I know my setting in phone are correct since Siri works with my old AirPods. Feeling like these new ones are garbage….am I missing something?
Thanks for sharing. What iOS version are you running on your iPhone?
