Indeed, older iPhone models were showing an alarm icon in the top-right corner of the status bar.

However, this functionality was removed ever since notched iPhones have been released and the screen real estate of the status bar has shrunken.

Nevertheless, you can still check if an alarm is set on your iPhone, in the Control Center:
Swipe-down from the top-right corner of the screen and the alarm icon displays next to the battery percentage indicator at the top of the Control Center!

More: Of course that you can also check if an alarm is active in the Clock app. Tap on alarm and check for the green knob next to the desired time.

Use Siri: Yes, you can also ask Siri if an alarm is set on your device. ‘Hey Siri, is there an alarm set on my iPhone?’. Your virtual assistant will display any active alarms and give you the option to turn it Off.!
