Apple has just announced its wireless over-ear headphones called AirPods Max. The new headset retails for a whopping $549 and can be ordered now on from the Apple Store app and on Apple.com. The premium headset will begin to ship starting with December 15!

The AirPods Max are available in five colors: silver, space gray, sky blue, pink, and green. You can order them as follows:

  • Open the Apple Store app on your iPhone or iPad.
  • Scroll for the Featured section, in the Shop tab.
  • Tap on Buy , available next to AirPods Max.
  • Pick the Color and decide if you wanna opt for ApplCare+ coverage, priced at $59.
  • Tap on Add to Bag.
    Tip: Add Engraving to personalize your AirPods pro with a mix of text, emoji and numbers! You can use up to 15 characters.
  • Review your offer and tap on Buy with Apple Pay!

Each AirPods Max cup is equipped with a H1 chip that blends hardware with advanced software to enable computational audio. The main specs listed by Apple for its new wireless over-ear headphones are:

  • Adaptive EQ.
  • Active Noise Cancellation.
  • Transparency Mode.
  • Spatial audio.

    Some more features coming with the AirPods Max are:

  • Automatic switching: will allow sound to naturally move between iPhone, iPad and Mac as the users switches from a device to the other. For example, if you play music on your Mac, and you decide to take a call from your iPhone, the AirPods Max are able to automatically switch audio playback from your smartphone.
  • Audio Sharing allows you to play audio from a device to two different sets of AirPods Max units. This is available from iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Apple TV 4K. Just bring the AirPods Max near to one of the above mentioned devices and connect with a single tap.
