Apple has released iOS 15.7.6 and iPadOS 15.7.6 build number 19H349 for iPhone 6s, 7 and SE (1st gen) as well as iPad Air 2, mini (4th gen.) and iPod touch! It brings security fixes for devices that are not compatible with iOS 16!
iOS 15.7.6 Update
This release is available over-the-air in Settings -> General -> Software Update, on all iOS 15 compatible iPhones that can’t be updated to iOS 16!
Tap Download and Install, provide device passcode and be patient until the update is requested, downloaded, prepared, verified and installed!
Fact: If your iPhone runs iOS 15.x and is compatible with iOS 16, the 15.7.6 update won’t show up. Users will see iOS 16.5 instead!
iOS 15.7.6 Features
Apple most likely doesn’t include any new features in updates for older iOS generations. It only focuses on security fixes!

iOS 15.7.6 Security Fixes
There are a lot of security updates included in this release as it aims to fix the same vulnerabilities addressed in iOS 16.5!
Apple lists around 18 fixed security issues in the support document covering:
- Accessibility, Apple Neural Engine, Core Capture, ImageIO, IOSurface, Kernel, Metal, NetworkExtension, Photos, Shell, Shortcuts, Telephony, TV App, WebKit.

Hello. Inhave iphone 8 plus on ios 15.6.1 but it drains very fast. There is a newer version of ios 15 to update? Or ios 16 have better battery life?
There is no newer iOS 15 version available for the iPhone 8. You can update to iOS 16.7.1 though. However, be careful you will not be able to revert to iOS 15.6.1 if you’re not happy with it.
