iPhone 11 Pro Gets 18W USB-C Fast Charger In The Box

It’s been 12 years since Apple has decided to upgrade the iPhone wall charger hardware. In fact, ever since the first iPhone was released in 2007, all the other iterations have been shipped with the same wall plug and cable as the original iPhone. In 2019 the iPhone 11 Pro models are shipping with an 18W USB-C wall charger and a USB-C to Lightning cable in the box. That’s the first time when a new iPhone gets a fast charger included in the standard packaging.

To be clear only the Pro models get this update. The standard price affordable iPhone 11 still ships with the old charger, although it can handle fast charging. In fact, all iPhones starting with the iPhone 8 model can be fast charged, however Apple has decided to charge a premium for that and included the same old 5W wall plug with an USB-A cable.

2020 iPhone With USB-C Instead Of Lightning

Apparently Apple aims to finally ditch the Lightning port in favor of USB-C, but this will happen only for the 2020 iPhone lineup.
