Related: Apple has also released iOS 16.1 (20B82), iPadOS 16.1 (20B82), macOS Ventura 13 (22A380), watchOS 9.1 (20S75), tvOS 16.1 (20K71) and HomePod 16.1.
12.6.1 appears to download, but after the required time, the install had 5 minutes to go, and then after it completed. But it never did install. It’s still listed in the Updates as an update to install.
What happens if you restart your Mac?
Same problems as Rger said. Even after restarting Mac. And even more troubles – Safari is disappeared!
Can you delete the update file and start over? Also try to free up more storage space even if you don’t get a storage space warning.
I upgraded my imac from 12,6 Monterey to 12.6.1
It went back to the beginning of the download 6 or 7 times than finally finished after about 1 hour. My new backup notice included a Safari back-uo besides the Ventura. It shows only the ventura left so it seems to have downloaded both the Monterey 12.6.1 and the Safari. I have yet to try anything except to go on line investigating Ventura.
Thanks for reporting. Yes, if you select macOS Monterey 12.6.1 it will install by default the Safari update too unless you deselect it, because the Safari update is available for both 12.6.1 and Ventura.
Let us know if you have more feedback.
I updated to 12.6.1. I let the system download and install overnight. The next morning I discovered that my family and friends videos and many others had been deleted. (Not in trash). It seems like att video files have been removed from my mac Does 12,6.1 have any information on the deleted files?
That’s really strange… did it perhaps ask for permission to delete them to create extra space for the update? Perhaps they’ve been temporary uploaded to iCloud?
I started the update for version 12.16.1 and left the room for several hours. Upon returning it looked like it had installed which i verified with About This Mac.
Then the problems started: slow mouse response, slow mouse clicks response. Lightroom loaded very slowly and scrolling through images was like moving through a mud pit. The update has slowed downed my Mac Pro to a crawl.
Thanks for reporting. Give it a few hours to finish reindexing and also perform a restart. Let us know if problem persists after 24 hours.
