Warning: Shortcuts crashing on launch in iOS 15.2 Beta 2! The app isn’t opening and is unusable! If you haven’t updated yet, be patient until we can assess how widespread this bug is!
Shortcuts Crashing iOS 15.2
As soon as I’ve updated to the iOS 15.2 Developer Beta 2 the Shortcuts app has become unusable on my iPhone 13 Pro. It’s crashing on startup every time!
I’ve force restarted the device but the issue persists!
How To Fix Shortcuts Crashing On iPhone
This looks like a serious iOS 15.2 Beta 2 bug. I can’t make Shortcuts to open not matter what. I tried the following:
- 1. Open from Spotlight Search, App Library, Home Screen. Shortcuts crashes every time!
- 2. Force Restart iPhone.
- 3. Reinstall Shortcuts. (Settings -> General -> iPhone Storage -> Shortcuts -> Offload App -> Reinstall)
If you heavily rely on Shortcuts don’t update to this beta yet!

Shortcuts app won’t open for me too. That’s extremely annoying. Please provide a solution!
Thanks for confirming Nicholas. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find any working fix until now. Shortcuts app won’t open on our test device either. Will update this article as soon as we have something new.
For me too on iPhone 13 Pro, shortcuts crashed on every launch!
Thanks for confirming Niels. Couldn’t find any workaround. Even if you ask Siri to open Shortcuts, the same thing happens app won’t open. The screen gets blurry showing that the iPhone tries to open the application, but it instantly closes and goes to the Home Screen.
The DTSDKBuild Number from the Shortcuts App needs to be Updated; iOS 15.2 thinks the app is “too old”
Thanks for clarifying this Niels. I assume Apple has to adjust this in the upcoming beta, correct? Or is there a way for the average user to do it on the device and troubleshoot the problem until the update comes out?
Mine is crashing as well. Very frustrating
What iOS version is your iPhone running Amanda? This was fixed for us after iOS 15.2 Beta 4. Shortcuts started crashing in Beta 2 and continued to do so in Beta 3. But now I’m running the iOS 15.2 RC and it’s working perfectly.
Some apps work and some don’t. Very frustrating

I’m not able to download any shortcut! I get “shortcuts failed to verity this shortcut”! iphone 14 Pro, OS 16.5! Help?
