Apple’s iPhone ‘Ten’ packs two design features that are highly debated. The notch at the top of the screen, that’s seen as a compromise for accommodating Face ID and the TrueDepth camera system, and the Home Button removal to make room for the edge-to-edge OLED display. It the second is highly welcomed because it adds a lot of screen real estate to the 10th anniversary iPhone, the notch brings the opposite effect, cutting out a piece of the screen size.

The Home button has been replaced by the Side button and various other swipe gestures. You do need a few days to get accustomed with them, but once you do you’ll love the interaction. However, if you can’t live without the Home button, I’ve already provided a solution for bringing it back to the iPhone X! Now, it’s time to learn a trick that allows you to remove the notch, in case you can’t get used to it!

The downside, is that your iPhone X will receive a top bezel as demoed in the image available nearby!
How To: 1. Download the modified official iPhone X Live wallpaper, from here. (Touch & hold the background image. Next, tap Save Image and the file will be downloaded to the iOS 11 Photos app.)
2. Open Photos from the iPhone X Home screen and browse for the recently downloaded wallpaper.
3. Tap the Share button and us the ‘Use as Wallpaper’ option.
4. Important: Pinch the image and drag it as far down as possible to make sure that it fits right on the ears.
Tip: Also make sure that you set the notch-less wallpaper as a Still background image.

Fact: Although spectacular, this workaround only camouflages the iPhone ‘Ten’ notch for the Home and Lock screen views. The ears will be noticeable on all other apps optimized for the iPhone X.
