Trick To Remove The iPhone X Notch From Home And Lock Screen
The Home button has been replaced by the Side button and various other swipe gestures. You do need a few days to get accustomed with them, but once you do you’ll love the interaction. However, if you can’t live without the Home button, I’ve already provided a solution for bringing it back to the iPhone X! Now, it’s time to learn a trick that allows you to remove the notch, in case you can’t get used to it!
How To Remove The iPhone X Notch
Trick: The effect is created with the help of a customized wallpaper that makes the two ‘ears’ or ‘horns’ obsolete, thus bypassing the notch altogether. The downside, is that your iPhone X will receive a top bezel as demoed in the image available nearby!
How To: 1. Download the modified official iPhone X Live wallpaper, from here. (Touch & hold the background image. Next, tap Save Image and the file will be downloaded to the iOS 11 Photos app.)
2. Open Photos from the iPhone X Home screen and browse for the recently downloaded wallpaper.
3. Tap the Share button and us the ‘Use as Wallpaper’ option.
4. Important: Pinch the image and drag it as far down as possible to make sure that it fits right on the ears.
Tip: Also make sure that you set the notch-less wallpaper as a Still background image.
Fact: Although spectacular, this workaround only camouflages the iPhone ‘Ten’ notch for the Home and Lock screen views. The ears will be noticeable on all other apps optimized for the iPhone X.
