Apple has released watchOS 9.1 Beta 2 build number 20S5049d for Developers. The Public Beta is expected soon. This version fine tunes the first major update to watchOS 9, expected in October. It brings bug fixes, new features and a series of new problems!

watchOS 9.1 Beta 2 Update

You can install this version, over-the-air in Settings -> General -> Software Update, as long as the watchOS 9 Beta Profile is installed on your Apple Watch and the paired iPhone is running an iOS 16 beta version.

If your device is running the first watchOS 9 Beta version and you haven’t deleted the watchOS 9 Configuration Profile in the meantime, you’re good to go!

Else,

  • Public Beta: requires device to be enrolled via the Apple Beta Software Program website. A step-by-step guide is available here.
  • Developer Beta: needs the watchOS 9 Configuration Profile to be downloaded and installed from the Apple Developer platform.
