You have an Incubator available since the start. Depending on the egg you have to walk between 2 and 10 kilometers to hatch. When you complete the process a new Pokemon joins your squad and you get between 200 and 1000 XP, depending on how long the incubation was.
6. Evolve Pokemon
Evolving your monsters brings 500 XP for each cycle. However, it’s debatable if you should wast your resources to evolve Pokemon in the early Pokemon Trainer levels. The idea is that the higher your level is the better creatures will spawn and reach your backpack. As a general rule evolving doubles the CP (combat power) of a Pokemon. So, you it’s ideal to evolve only when the Pokemon already has a high CP.
