Stage Manager Not Showing For External Display?
Although this new multitasking feature worked in the iPadOS 16.1 beta testing stages with external displays, Apple has decided to pull the functionality in the public release.
Apparently, it was to glitch and it requires more fine tuning. We expect it to roll out in iPadOS 16.2

The iPad Mini 4 is stuck at iPadOS 15 so it looks like you made a typo: it’s the iPad Mini 5 and Mini 6 that won’t get Stage Manager.
That’s true. Thanks for correcting. Updated.
I want stage manager for more ipads than ipad pros. I want them in normal ipads like ipad 7,8,9,10 and mini
We all do. Let’s hope that they will dripfeed it.
So.. there’s no fuvking point in updating any older models, none of the good iOS 16 features are even fuvking available? *Censored*.
While some your frustration can be justified, you should take the full half of the glass. Your older iPad model gets software support, several new features and security updates for longer than the competitors.
I have a 9th gen iPad and have installed iOS 16.1. My control center does not show the symbol for stage manager. Home Screen & Multitasking in Settings does not show a Stage Manage click button.
????????
Unfortunately, Stage Manager isn’t supported on iPad 9th gen.
Bring stage manager to ipad 9th gen
Amen to that!
I have iPad mini 6th generation and I don’t have stage manager. Help?
Thanks for reporting. Quote from the article:
“Fact: Stage Manager not working with iPad Air (3rd and 4th gen.), iPad mini 5 and 6, iPad 5th to 8th gen.”
Sorry but this functionality is currently not available for your iPad model.
This seals the lid on the kool aid for me. My 4 isn’t even that old and it’s being treated like it’s a ‘vintage’ device….. no thanks
They might add it in a subsequent iPadOS 16.1 update as they did with the battery percentage in the status bar for the iPhone mini series.
