Apple Watch Screenshot Not Working?

This issue has been reported by Brian (Apple Watch Series 6):

“Screenshots not working anymore after updating to watchos 10 beta! Any help?”

We could replicate this unexpected behavior! In some cases it appears that the watchOS 10 beta update automatically disables the screenshot option in Settings!

How To Fix Apple Watch Screenshot Not Working

You can quickly correct this by turning the option back On in Settings on iPhone or directly from your wrist:
apple watch screenshot settings

  • 1. Click the Digital Crown and tap on the Settings icon.
  • 2. Go for General and search for Screenshots.
  • 3. Use the toggle to Enable Screenshots.

You can tweak the same setting in the Watch app on iPhone:

  • 1. In the My Watch tab, tap on General.
  • 2. Scroll for Enable Screenshots
  • 3. Use the toggle to turn this feature back On!

Apple Watch Screenshots Not Saving

The print-screens seem to work but the screenshots are not showing up in the Camera Roll on iPhone? This means that there’s a communication issue between the two devices.

First, try to force quit Photos app on iPhone, using App Switcher. Open Photos again and check if the printscreens have been downloaded from the watch.

If the problem persist, make sure that the watch isn’t running in Airplane Mode.

Another fix requires you to reboot both devices. Does this help?
