Posted in TILs by Patricia on August 8, 2022You can finally display the battery percentage on iPhone with Face ID! The values are shown within the battery icon in the status bar starting with iOS 16! However, there are plenty iPhone 13,12,11 and XR users that aren’t getting the battery percentage in the status bar.
Battery Percentage Not Showing On iPhone?
You’re owning an iPhone released in 2021 and are not seeing the battery percentage value on top of the battery icon in the status bar?
The feature is, at the time of writing, not available for any mini model including the iPhone 13 and iPhone 12 mini, most likely because of the reduced screen real estate.
The iPhone 11 and iPhone XR owners are also reporting battery percentage not available!
Fact: We’re still in the iOS 16 beta stages and Apple might have rolled out the feature to try it out with a limited number of devices. Hopefully it will include all iPhones with Face ID until the public release!
Interesting: The battery percentage indicator is available and working well on all jailbroken iPhones with Face ID, even those with low resolution or limited space. Numbers are readable.

Hi Priyam. It’s currently only available in iOS 16 Developer Beta 5. The matching version for public beta testers will be released today: iOS 16 Public Beta 3. You will have to update before battery percentage becomes available.

Unfortunately it’s not available. Nevertheless, it might be added during an upcoming beta. Apple might just drip-feed it. There’s still time until the Public release.
