Apple has released the iPhone 12 lineup and as expected the 2020 iPhone models will ship without EarPods and without a charger in the box!

Well, to be more specific the iPhones will come without a Power Adapter. The box will include an USB-C to Lightning Cable, which does represent an upgrade from the standard USB-A to Lightning cable that was traditionally delivered!

More than that, Apple has also removed these accessories from all other iPhone models available for sale, starting with today. This means that even if you buy an iPhone 11, XR, SE 2nd generation, you’ll also end up with a smaller box.

The Cupertino-based tech giant claims that the move allows them to save on packaging materials, shipping costs, thus reduce the environmental impact with the equivalent of keeping 450,000 cars away from the roads for an entire year.

20W USB-C chargers can now be purchased separately on Apple’s website for $19. The only Apple device that continues to ship with this charger included in the box is the iPad Air. However, only recent iPhone models have been shipped with an USB-C brick. Which means that users haven’t updated their iPhone in the past year, will need to separately purchase and USB-C power adapter!

Fact: The current $19 price tag for 20W USB-C is $10 cheaper than the retail price of the older 18W USB-C model.
