Is the iPhone Home bar not disappearing when watching YouTube videos? You switch to full screen mode and the bar remains permanently on? It only changes color from white to black without hiding from the bottom of the screen? This is caused by a fresh YouTube bug!

iPhone Home Bar Not Disappearing

Although problems coincide with the release of iOS 15.5 our tests have shown that the issue isn’t triggered by the new software updates.

It’s a bug that’s affecting iPhone models that haven’t updated to the latest iOS bug have installed the latest YouTube app version in the App Store instead. As soon as users update to Version 17.19.2, the home bar displays permanently at the bottom of the iPhone screen.

Unfortunately, there is no workaround for this. Restarting iPhone doesn’t help. The home bar won’t disappear when users watch YouTube videos in full-screen (landscape mode).

Offloading and reinstalling YouTube doesn’t work either. You can try it in Settings -> General -> iPhone Storage -> YouTube -> Offload App -> Reinstall App.

You can tell that the iPhone home bar turns black (from white) after a couple of seconds, right when it should hide, but it sticks on the screen instead.

We can only wait this out patiently until Google LLC issues a bug fixing update for this YouTube bug. The issue is only affecting the iOS version of YouTube, everything fine on Android.

Fact: Stay tuned! We will update this article as soon as an update is available or a workaround is found.
