The AirPods 3 firmware 4B66 is the first ever update released by Apple for their 3rd AirPods generation. This release comes less than one month since the AirPods 3 were unveiled during the Unleashed event keynote.

The wireless earbuds have shipped with version 4B61. By comparing version numbers, we can conclude that this is a minor update that most likely focuses on bug fixes and performance improvements.
Unfortunately, Apple doesn’t share release notes for AirPods firmware updates so we will have to test them out and report any changes.
