Selected Emoji Emoticons ready to be spoken!

It’s time to have a little fun with your iPhone! A few weeks ago we showed you how you can make Siri read out a selected text for you, using iOS Speak Selection.

Now, we can take this to another level and ask Siri to read out Emoji symbols for us. If you aren’t sure what an Emoticon means, or you simply want to have a little fun, just type in a few Emojis and make your iOS device read them out for you!

How To Do It
After you typed-in the symbols, tap and hold the screen to select the items.
Next, release, tap on Select All and next press the right arrow to navigate to the Speak option. Hit it and a female/male voice, depending on your setting, will start reading out the symbols for you.

Important
You need Speak Selection to be enabled on your iOS device, for this trick to work. Simply tap on Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> Speak Selection and check if the ON/OFF switch is green (active). From the same menu, you can adjust Speaking Rate and adjust Voices. For more info check our detailed article on Speak Selection here.
