Security Fixes
The security document of this update mentions two vulnerabilities that have been patched for:
Kernel
Issue: A local attacker may be able to elevate their privileges. This may have been actively exploited in versions before iOS 16.7.
Fix: The issue was fixed with improved checks.
Security
Issue: A malicious app may be able to bypass signature validation. This may have been actively exploited in versions before iOS 16.7.
Fix: A certificat validation issue was resolved.
watchOS 10.0.1 Download
As usual, this update is available over-the-air in the Watch app on the paired iPhone:
- 1. In the My Watch tab go for General -> Software Update.
- 2. 10.0.1 update should show up on the screen.
- 3. Tap Download and Install or just Install if the update has been already downloaded on your device.
- 4. Agree with ToS, input Passcode and be patient until the new software is requested, downloaded, prepared, verified and installed on your device!

severe battery drain after this update! Have to charge watch up to 3x per time with very light usage. No workouts, no music, no calls! Am i the only one?
Thanks for reporting. This might be cause by a Location Services bug that’s triggered by Location Serviced based complications on the Apple Watch face. More details here:

I’m right there with you. Never had to charge my watch as often as I do now!!
watchOS 10.1 should be released as early as today and it will address the battery drain problems. Let us know if it helps!
I’m getting white lines on the edges of the screen every since updating to watchOS 10. Problem persists in 10.0.1! help pls!
Seeing white boxes instead of complication data. Is it just me or this is a watchos 10 bug?

What happened to swipe up mode for flashlight, theatre mode, etc? I’m just getting the same apps as pressing the Digital Crown button. Not happy with this “upgrade “.
They changed the gesture. You have to click the Side Button to bring up the Control Center:

Apple Watch screen blinks yellow occasionally when I remove the watch from my wrist. Is this normal?
