Install iOS 11 OTA Or From These Direct Download Links

iOS 11 is now available for update, as advertised by Apple during the September 12 keynote. One week after the Golden Master release the 11th iOS generation is up for grabs over-the-air. This means that you can open the Settings app on your iPhone and iPad and browse for General -> Software Update. There you’ll find the iOS 11 public release. Tap on Download and Install and wait until the 2 GB large firmware is downloaded to your device.

Next, tap on Install to unpack the software. Agree with Apple’s terms, provide your Passcode and be patient until your iPhone or iPad is switching to the most advanced iOS version ever. In normal circumstances the update process shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes. However, because everyone wants to get a piece of iOS 11 as soon as possible, Apple’s servers my get overcrowded and the OTA update option might fail. In this case you can try to update via iTunes, or using the direct download links available below.

To download the appropriate IPSW file for your device you have to know the model number of your iPhone or iPad. You can check it on the back of your device, or easier within the Settings tab in the General -> About menu.
