One of the new major features embedded in iOS 11 is the ARKit, which is Apple’s way of welcoming Augmented Reality to the iPhone and iPad. Although there is no stock app that makes us of the native AR iOS support, the Cupertino-based tech giant allows third party developers to include AR functionality in their apps. iOS users are now able to toy with augmented reality without the need of investing in new hardware, at least those that have upgraded their devices in the past 24 months.

Nevertheless, contrary to expectations, not all iPhone and iPad models that are compatible with iOS 11, receive support for AR. Only the most powerful iOS devices will be able to run augmented reality. If you own an iPhone or iPad that is powered by an A9 chip or a more advanced version, you’re lucky enough to enjoy this revolutionary feature. This means that all iPhones starting with the SE model and later, as well as all iPad Pro versions are compatible with the AR feature. Check out the complete list available below!
