watchOS 9.6.1 build number 20U80 has been released for Apple Watch 4 and later! This is the 100th watchOS version ever rolled out by Apple! It’s a minor update that fixes an issue related to motion data access for some apps.

As usual, this release is available, over-the-air directly on your wrist, or in the Watch app on the paired iPhone:

  • 1. View tge My Watch tab and go for General -> Software Update.
  • 2. Tap Download and Install when 9.6.1 comes up!
  • 3. Provide iPhone Passcode to authenticate.
  • 4. Be patient until the new software is requested, downloaded, prepared, verified and installed on your device!
  • Important: watchOS 9.6.1 not available for users that already installed the watchOS 10 beta on their devices!
