Is the brand new Apple Watch 7 displaying the Notification dot off center? The red dot that indicates that you have unread notifications, is placed towards the right of the screen? Does this bother you? Is this a watchOS 8 bug or an intended behavior?
Contour Watch Face Notification Dot Controversy
This is an exclusive watchOS 8 face. In fact, it’s only available for the new Apple Watch Series 7 models!
However, the red notifications dot is displayed off centered, at the top of the Watch Face. This doesn’t happen on any other theme from the Watch Face Gallery!
More exactly, the unread Notification icon is displayed, at the top of the screen, towards the right side between the ’12’ and ‘1’ hours!
How To Fix Contour Face Notification Dot Off Centered
Don’t bother with rebooting Apple Watch. It won’t help. Apparently, this isn’t a bug, it’s the way Apple’s developers have chosen to display the red dot on this particular Watch Face!
So, there’s nothing that you can do to fix it, except updating to the upcoming watchOS 8 updates, with the hope that this Contour face behavior will be redesigned.
Contour Face Notification Dot Alternatives
If the current alignment bothers you, use the comments section available below and let us know where you would like the red dot to be displayed, if Apple would take in account a redesign.
Some of the acceptable scenarios would be:
- Notification dot to be displayed, on top of the 12 number, as suggested in the above render.
- Contour face with Notification dot between the 1 and the 2, of the ’12’ hour. This would require a slighlty larger gab between the two digits, that could be obtained by diminishing ’11’ and ‘1’.
- Notification dot to be displayed, centered, under the 12 number.
- To be updated (waiting for your ideas).
