iPhone 14 No Service, Poor Signal, Drops Calls, Slow 5G?
Having iPhone 14 No Service issues? Is the cellular signal on your new iPhone worse than the older model, up to the point that you’re getting no signal and dropped calls? Are 5G speeds slow too?
iPhone 14 Cellular Issues?
This unexpected behavior has been reported by Raul:
“Having cellular issues, signal is in general at least 2 bar worse than iPhone 13 Pro, sometimes causing drop calls or missed calls because of No Service, 5G speeds are too slow.”
We’ve found similar reports about iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max cellular problems on Reddit:
1:
“Cellular Service dropping frequently and/or very slow – iPhone 14 Pro Max”
iPhone 14 pro max 5g connectivity issues
3: “Anyone seeing dropped service on the iPhone 14s?”
And then there’s also a thread on the MacRumors forums:
“My iPhone 14 Pro Max is dropping cellular about every 10 min.”
How To Fix iPhone 14 Cellular Issues
At the time of writing, there’s no magic fix available. Apple will most likely have to patch these connectivity problems in an upcoming software update. In the meantime this is what you can do:
1. Downgrade To LTE / 4G
Most reports confirm that the poor signal or complete service loss occur while iPhone is connected via 5G!
A temporary workaround to avoid any other missed calls and dropped calls is to force your iPhone to connect via LTE / 4G band.
How to: This is done in Settings -> Cellular -> Cellular Data Options -> Voice & Data and select LTE (4G), instead of the default 5G Auto.
Update: Resetting Network Settings won’t help, neither does an iOS 16.0.2 reinstall, or updating to iOS 16.1 beta 2.

I have the same issue of dropped connectivity in transit that I never had on my iPhone 12 which was also 5G. Will try solution above.
Thanks for confirming. Let us know if it helps.
Hi Jeff – I’m having the same issues.
Did this help you?
Thank you
Having the same issues with my new iPhone 14 Pro!
Sorry to hear this. iOS 16.1 will be out in a couple of days (Monday, October 24). Let us know if you feel any improvement.
same issue
Thanks for reporting. Are you on iOS 16.1.1.
I have a 14 Pro Max up to date on 16.1.1 and still have a variety of call issues – random feedback (fixed by hanging up and calling back), Carplay calls where my mic is not working or the audio is delayed on the other end, and incoming calls going straight to voicemail even when I have signal. I will turn on LTE only to see if it helps. Is it recommended to turn Wifi calling on or off?
Thanks for the detailed report. What do you mean with ‘random feedback’?
You have to play with the WiFi calling option to see what works best for you. If you have it Off turn it ON and vice-versa and let us know if you notice a difference.
Been having connectivity issues with my iphone 14 pro at my work, my previous iphone 11 never had any issues like this. Switching to LTE completely fixed my connectivity issues. Pretty frustrating that this is the solution and that the “5G auto” option doesnt just automatically bump me down to LTE but commenting so others know that this trick worked for me
Thanks for your confirmation. Are these problems persisting in iOS 16.2? What carrier are you using?
Updates to 16.2 and still dropped calls.
Hate my iPhone 14!!
Sorry to hear this. How often does this happen? Is it occurring in the same location or in various places?
Completely agree with you. I wish I never got this phone. It’s been nothing but a problem.
5g not available at all as am option on my brand new iPhone 13!
Thanks for reporting. Have you ever had 5G connectivity on your plan? If not you might have to contact your carrier to enable it. More info here:

I have the same issue my Iphone 14 Pro Max having really bad signal or no signal at all.
