iOS 15.8 Issues, Security Improvements, Bug Fixes & More

iOS 15.8 and iPadOS 15.8 build number 19H370 have been released for iPhone 6s, 7 and SE (1st gen) as well as iPad Air 2, mini (4th gen.) and iPod touch (7th gen.)! It brings security fixes for devices that aren’t compatible with iOS 16 and 17!

iOS 15.8 Update

This release is available over-the-air in Settings -> General -> Software Update, on all iOS 15 compatible iPhones that can’t be updated to iOS 17 or 16!

Tap Download and Install, provide device passcode and be patient until the update is requested, downloaded, prepared, verified and installed!

Fact: If your iPhone runs iOS 15.x and is compatible with iOS 16 or iOS 17, the 15.8 update won’t show up. You will see iOS 16.7.2 or iOS 17.1 instead!

iOS 15.8 Security Fixes

There is a single vulnerability addressed in this update according to the support document:
