iOS 16.7.2 update
iOS 16.7.2 update with build number 20H115 has been released for iPhone 8 and later as well as all compatible iPad Models! It addresses security issues for users that haven’t updated to iOS 17.1 and prefer to remain on the 16th generation for the time being!

iOS 16.7.2 Security Fixes
There are sixteen patched vulnerabilities mentioned in the support document of this update!
They cover exploits for CoreAnimation, Find My, ImageIO, IOTextEncryptionFamily, Kernel, Mail Drafts, mDNSResponder, Pro Res, Safari, Siri, Weather, WebKit and WebKit Process Model.
The vulnerabilities have been addressed with: improved memory handling, improved memory management, improved handling of caches, improved state management, removing the vulnerable code, improved handling of caches, improved checks.
Fact: These are the security fixes implemented by Apple in iOS 17.1.
iOS 16.7.2 Features
You most likely won’t find any other enhancements. Apple continues to provide security support for iOS 16, but new features will be included only in upcoming iOS 17.x updates.
Fact: The latest improvements in the 16th gen. have been implemented in 16.7.

iOS 16.7.2 Download
As usual, this update is available over-the-air:
- 1. Open Settings -> General -> Software Update on any compatible iPhone or iPad.
- 2. iOS 16.7.2 / iPadOS 16.7.2 should show up on the Software Update screen.
- 3. Tap Download and Install.
- 4. Agree with ToS, input Passcode and be patient until the new software is requested, downloaded, prepared, verified and installed on your device!

after the ios 16.7.2 i have recieved wifi problems including the famous grey button, i cant turn it on.
Have you tried to reboot your device and see if the problem persists?
i have tried everything reboot..factory reset non seems to work, now i cant use my wifi or bluetooth devices because the buttons are frozen and grey.
Sorry to hear this. It looks like your device is dealing with a hardware problem. Bring your device to a repair shop and let us know if you managed to fix it.
after the update my screen is glitching and safary acting crazy, opening and closing and freezing. Keyboard unresponsive from time to time. Battery getting very hot also. And rebooted, restarted… no effect

Since update the location of my son’s phone iphone8 is not displayed correctly in my ‘find my’ app. Maps and location on his phone are working correctly. Strange thing is that on my phone the time of his last location is ‘next year’. Anyone else observing the same problem?
