This issue has been reported by Eliza:
“I get ‘thread failed to upload’ error even if I want to post just text, no image.”
This issue seems to be inconsistent. We couldn’t replicate it but have found similar complaints on Reddit!
Fact: It seems that the release of Threads has been rushed by Meta in other to capitalize as much as possible from Twitter’s downfall. This can lead to occasional service downtime!
How To Fix Thread Failed To Upload Error
In most cases these issues are caused by brief downtimes caused by server-side upgrades. The best way to deal with them is to be patient and try again later.
You can also apply these troubleshooting options:
1. Reopen Threads App
Force close Threads from the App Switcher, wait a couple of seconds and open Threads again.
Are you able to post now?
2. Reinstall Threads
Some users mention that they managed to fix this Threads error by deleting the app and reinstalling it.
How to: You can do this in Settings -> General -> iPhone Storage -> Threads -> Offload app -> Reinstall app.

Really hate that there’s no retry option. I have to retype everything.
Yeah, that’s annoying. When I type something longer I copy it just to make sure that I can quickly paste it in case I get the posting error.
