Audio notifications not working on iPhone after iOS 17 update? Badges show up but there is no sound played when a notification is triggered? Device is not Silent and Focus modes that could prevent the alerts from triggering are turned off?

This issue has been reported by Alexandra (17 PB1):
“Alert sound for notification won’t play when a notification is triggered. Happens with various apps.”
We could replicate the issue. This bug only occurs when Lock Screen, Notification Center and Banner alerts are disabled for an app. If only Sounds and Badges alerts are enable, audio won’t play!
iOS 17 Audio Notifications Not Working Fix!
Apple will have to fix this issue in the next updates, however until then you can apply the following workaround:
- 1. Open Settings and scroll for the app that you want to fix the notifications for.
- 2. Tap Notifications.
- 3. Make sure that at least one of the Lock Screen, Notification Center or Banner options is checked.
Tip: If you want to have them least intrusive, you should select Notification Center. Thanks CabinRetreat for sharing the workaround.

I cannot get the sounds to work on. iOS 17 beta. I am missing texts and phone calls. I did a reset and still not working.
Thanks for sharing. Are you running the most recent Developer Beta 4 or Public Beta 2 correct? You checked for any enabled Focus mode that could cause this issue? Also the Ring/Silent switch on your device?
I had the same issue the notification are working but it’s giving some weird notification sound which is not set by me. The one I am trying to use it’s not working
Ringtones and alerts have been changed in iOS 17, that’s why you might not recognize it?
Today with the latest release, it is still a problem and you must do the workaround noted above. Apple you’re annoying!

I have this problem from the IOS17 that downloaded this morning. No notification sounds at all for any apps. This is crap
Sorry to hear this. New notification sound for apps is very low and this appears to be a bug. We’ve reported it to Apple!
I have this problem with vibrate—phone does not vibrate when receiving texts anymore and I have Lock Screen, Notification Center and Banner options unchecked for privacy
Sorry to hear this. It means that this behavior has reached the public release version. To make it vibrate you need to check one of options. Go for the Notification Center option. It’s the least visible. Let us know if you find a better solution.

Hello I have problem since iOS 15, iOS 16 and now on iOS 17, same apps like YouTube, Google app, Familylink, Google news, don’t do notifications sound and vibration when show up and I have all sounds on, and the do not disturb off, the others apps notifications sound work normal.
