Hearing Aids Not Connecting To iPhone
Hearing devices were working flawlessly before the iOS 15.6 update but they got disconnected right after? This problem has been reported by Rick:
“After updating to 15.6 my hearing aids ( iPhone compatible) won’t pair with iPhone 12 or iPad Pro.”
We couldn’t replicate it, but I’ve found a similar report on Apple’s discussion forums and other similar websites.
Apparently the hearing aids disconnecting issue isn’t new to iOS 15.6. It’s been reported after iOS 15.4 update and even earlier for iOS 15.0.1.
More, it’s affecting various brands like Signia, Oticon, Phonak, Maihear and more.
How To Fix Hearing Aids Disconnecting From iPhone
Perform the following troubleshooting steps if your hearing aids won’t connect, keep disconnecting or encounter syncing issues with iPhone after iOS 15.6 update:
- In Settings -> Accessibility -> Hearing Devices -> MFi Hearing Devices -> Forget this device.
- In Settings -> General -> Transfer or Reset iPhone -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings
- Reboot iPhone and re-pair Hearing Devices in Settings -> Accessibility -> Hearing Devices
1. Remove Hearing Aids
2. Reset Network Settings
Fact: You might be able to skip this step, but it will help you reset the Bluetooth module. You will have to reconnect to you Wi-Fi network and input the password, so make sure that you know it before resetting.
3. Re-Pair Hearing Aids
Tip: If needed open your Hearing Aid app and confirm that the devices are connected.

My Oticon aids worked perfectly prior to upgrade. Now even if they stay connected, the sound will fail in one or the other ear and come and go. I have done a new pairing and it still happens. Do I need to go to my Dr or contact Apple?
Thanks for reporting. Wait until tomorrow, iOS 16.2 will be released. Update to it and let us know if it helps.
I have updated to the latest IOS 16.2 and it is happening immediately upon connecting.
Thanks for reporting. Sorry to hear this. Have you tried to remove and re-add your hearing aids?
Same problem! I follow 1-3 above which seems to have corrected the problem after a IOS 16.2 update. I will let you know if it stays connected after a couple of hours. I wear AGX G400.
Thanks for the feedback. Hope it does. Btw iOS 16.3 has been released in the meantime.
