If you haven’t updated already and are looking for some new feature to convince you, it won’t happen. Three are no enhancements mentioned in the update log.

More if you browse to System -> What’s New after updating you still get the old splash screen with changes from tvOS 15.4 which includes: support for Apple Watch purchases on Apple TV, picture-in-picture option for Home camera feed and Captive Wi-Fi Networks.

That’s kinda surprising because the release notes in iOS 15.6 and macOS 12.5 mention some changes for the Apple TV, app on the respective devices, giving the users the option to restart a live sports game that’s in-progress.

Last but not least the Developer release notes confirm it by confirming that:

“There are no new release notes for this software update.”

tvOS 15.6 Update

To download the update you have to perform the usual steps:

• Use the Apple TV remote to navigate to Settings -> System -> Software Updates.
• tvOS 15.6 (19M65) should show up. Select Update Now.

Tip: Be patient until the update is prepared, verified and installed. Apple TV reboots when process ends.
