Experiencing the Apple Tv white dot issue after updating to tvOS 17 beta? White dots similar to dead pixels show up in the top-right corner of the screen? Yes, this is most likely a software glitch!

This problem has been reported by Anita (tvOS 17 beta):
“Ever since updating a white dot is showing up in the top-right corner of the TV screen. Is this a bug or my TV just got a dead pixel? It must be software, coz I’m only seeing it when watching shows on Apple TV!”
We could replicate the issue and indeed this looks like a tvOS 17 beta bug. Others are reporting it too on Reddit.
How To Fix Apple TV White Dot On Screen
Most likely, this issue will be fixed by Apple in an upcoming beta release. Until then you can apply the following workaround:
- 1. Press & hold the TV button on the Siri remote to open the Control Center!
- 2. Click the TV button to close the Control Center.
That’s it, the white dot on your smart TV should disappear. Repeat the process, if the dot pops up again, until a permanent fix becomes available in the next release!
