The iPhone’s Dark Mode is the most popular and welcomed new feature of iOS 13. We’ve already shown you how to use it and informed you about its hidden shortcut available in the Control Center. In this article I will highlight a setting that completes the dark theme on your iPhone. It’s called “Dark Appearance Dims Wallpaper” and it does what it says. It brings your wallpaper inline with the rest of the theme.

Whenever your iPhone runs in Dark Mode the wallpaper will be also dimmed depending on the ambient light. This will be noticeable both when you check the Home Screen, Lock Screen as well as when you open the App Switcher or Control Center and the wallpaper will show up dimmed and blurred in the background. This setting isn’t enabled by default. Read on and see how you can check if its’ active on your device.
